This is How it is Supposed to Be

Have you ever listened to a driver recount the story of a race? I was listening to one the other day and it is amazing the details that are shared. God tells us we are to remember and recount things He has done. It is important to catch things that “He, the Lord God” has done. Listen to Deuteronomy 5:15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. (from NIV)

I must share what happened last week as I visited a couple.  They are in their 90’s!  The wife is not well and in full time care. The husband comes down and sits on the bed at her feet all day long until 8:30 in the evening. WOW what love and devotion. And she has great honor and respect for her husband. It is one of the finest examples of marriage I know.

The other great encouragement is how the husband said he reads to his wife in the morning and then in the evening. Even at 90 their first and last priority is the Word of God. I hope each of us places our spouse in a place on honor, love and respect; and the Word of God as highly valued. Just an added note, the husband can not really see much so his “reading” is from memory most the time. He invested much time to memorize Scripture so now he can claim it back as he “reads” and prays. What a great memory to recall for God’s glory.

Remember as you pray to pray for Ryan Carlson and several others who got hurt this last week. Pray also for track and series owners as this is not an easy time. We can help be praying for them and support our local tracks and series.

See you at the track soon and have a great day racin’ in the SONshine,

Todd

Lost a Race

What a bummer to have lost another race. It is hard to be all ready and not be able to race but that is a little better then drive and getting rained out. In Luke 19:10 the Bible says, For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” (from NIV) I am so glad that God seeks after the lost. I was one of those very lost. Even though as a young boy we went to a church on Sunday mornings I had no idea what it really meant to be saved. I thought that maybe it had to do with being good vs. bad or giving money to a church. But when we read what God says we see that it is placing our faith in Jesus, trust in Him alone, confessing our sin and then the big step of surrendering to Jesus as LORD. I hope you have done that. I hope you are not lost.

See you at a the track soon and have a great day racin’ in the SONshine,
