Fear

It is so cool to say we started the season. It was great to see you again. Great job to the Nig 8 and Midwest Tour. They put on a super show and good race. As I prayed Sunday it was a great day, great race, great track and great man we honored Sunday, yet God alone is truly great.

Before I get into things to far I want to remind you the National Day of Prayer is Thursday. Please take time to pray for this country. If you are no sure of things to pray get a hold of me and I can share some things that are important to me. One of the things we can pray is that we as Americans would have a correct fear of the Lord.

We talked about fear last time. In particular fear of the Lord and I said I would explain what that means. It is two fold: 1) to have an awe, wonder, WOW and 2) to know that God does have a just, judge and wrath side to Him. He will not let sin go unpunished.

There are many great verses that talk about the fear of the Lord but consider these from the NIV:

2 Chronicles 19:9-10 – He gave them these orders: “You must serve faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:2-3 – The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him–the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.

Much of my Scriptural study is in the area of God and His attributes. As you study God, which can only give us glimpses of His true nature, we learn how incredible He is and the reverence He alone is due. But also we learn that He can not have sin in His presence in Heaven and that He I perfectly just and must punish sin. I think too often we think God will let sin slide, but He will not. But if we confess and cry out to Him as Lord He will completely forgive.

I hope you take some time this week to pray for the nation and ponder on the fear of the Lord. Let me know if you have questions and we will go digging in the Bible for God answers, for man answer only lead to a wide road, but the narrow path of God’s answers lead to hope and eternal life

Have a great day racin’ in the SONshine,
Todd
