2 Samuel 22:1-4 (part 1)

The other day I was thinking about a great set of verses. Let’s spend a few weeks thinking about them.

Here are the verses:
2 Sam 22:1-4 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him… He said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior- … I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. (from NIV)

In racing it is a team sport from driver, to mechanic, to owner, to sponsors…This week let’s think about the beginning of these verses. David was one that struggled with sin as we do. He had several large “missing the mark” issues. Yet we see this passage where he is focused on his God and his Lord. We can learn much from his words, song, prayer. David could see his victory was not because of him or the army, but it came from God. That is just like in racing the driver can not take the credit for the victory. We have to surrender to God to see His victory in our life.
So here are some questions:
Are you seeing God hand at work in your victories?
Are you praising God for what He is doing?
Are you praise God no matter what His answer is?

See you at the track soon and have a great day racin’ in the SONshine,

Todd
