Happy July Fourth!
First, thank you to every person that has put on the uniform for this country.
Second, the word of the day is “freedom”. Let’s think about that. You have to have been ensnared to be freed. What does the Bible say about that? 2 Timothy 2:24-26 talks about the snare of the devil and Romans 3:10-12 tells us that we sinners, all of us. We think we have freedom, but we don’t. It is not until we have surrendered and turned to Jesus for salvation and true freedom. Galatians 5:1 NASB95 “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” This does not give us permission to just do whatever we want to do and call it good with God, no if we have truly bowed before a new Master and LORD in Jesus we will be sickened by our sin and desire to be pleasing to Him. 1 Peter 2:16 NASB95 Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil but use it as bondslaves of God.
So today I pray you are free in Jesus Christ. I pray you have turned to Him with all that you are and have the freedom He wants you to have. Repent and believe and be saved. Happy fourth of July.
