First, I would ask that you join me in praying for the Nick Bienlick family, as you know Nick passed away last Wednesday. He was a fun young man to be around and a rising star. He had a great smile, enjoyed racing, and enjoyed life. Let’s pray that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, would be with the family, friends and the race team along with Psalm 46:7 The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Often times in racing, we do not know what is right around the corner and we definitely do not know what is going to happen the next lap. We don’t know if there is going to be a great hole to drive through or a spinner right in front of us. We do not know if the tires are going to be just right or blow out and slam us into the wall.
So what do we do? We work hard before the race to get the car the best we can. We make sure we are doing our job during the race from spotter to driver to tire changer, etc… and then we make decisions as the race goes on.
That is why we must prepare what to do ahead of time for when we get to the difficult times in our lives. When I went down after Corey hit the wall I was surprised he did not injur his thumbs with the wheel getting jerked around. He said he let go because he knew that could happen. He had thought about it and planned ahead.
How do we plan ahead in life?
- We need to know God, the One who created the world and everything else
- We need to know His ways; we need to know Him, which is only through reading and studying the Bible
- We need to have godly men around us
- Last, we need to spend time in quiet prayer and meditation.
I pray that you are following God’s plan, so that when the tough times come God can guide you through it, as others bend their knees for you.
See you at the track,
